The beach is long over, and real, raw, Orlando-life is in full swing.  I have job training tomorrow, and then work to infiniti.  A long run this morning with Abby was beautiful.  I'm currently reading "Why Christians Can't Trust Psychology" which is quite insightful and I reccomend it highly.

Weighing most heavily on my chicken-and-potato fed brain is the fact that I got accepted to Wheaton College at last!  It's the sort of feeling that you get when you're coming up the stairs in the dark and you accidentaly take too many...or maybe waiting for waves with your back to them in the ocean.  Order and reality vanish and a new a hazy light takes the place of clarity.  The future you expected, even dreaded is nonexistant and an entire new reality appears.  I feel rather like I was cheated, and won the lottery at the same time.  Suffice it to say, "Money is the answer to everything" and Chicago is more expensive than a small town in Ohio.  How long, O Lord, must I wait?

Going, going, going, when will I see the light?

DAY TWO: Pilgrim Beach Vacation

The continental was all that  I dreamed and hoped.  I'm talking Waffles, toast, yogurt, danishes, cinnamon toast crunch....wow!  Funny: my mom wanted to try a Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit so she microwaved it.  She though it said to microwave for four minutes.  She did and the thing was nuked and stunk up the entire hotel lobby.  Hilarious!  It was gross anyway.

After that I went back to our room and saw Cate who had arrived LATE that night and hadn't gotten up yet.  We decided to go to Gold's Gym because the hotel let guests go for free.  We go down to the car, but Cate's bike is taking up the entire back seat.  My dad has to drive and so Cate and I are more than squished in the front seat.  We made a bajillion wrong turns, but finally got there and worked out.  Felt good.

After gyming it and looking at old photos that Cate brought back from college, we moved into the beach house.  How nice it is!

Now I'm in beach house nirvana awaiting a chili dinner...

DAY ONE: Pilgrim Beach VACATION

We got up at around 3:30...a.m. of course.  Packed the truck FULL of food, towels, suitcases, games...the vacation essentials.  We headed up the peninsula.  I slept, mom and dad listened to talk radio (crazy immigration bill, eh?) and we finally arrived in Virginia.

Went to Jason's Deli for dinner (dang it's cold here), and now we're just chillin' in the Marriot eagerly awaiting tomorrow's Continental Breakfast and moving into the beach house.  Only on these vacations do I realize the depravity of t.v. these days.  It's so derogitory, mind-numbing, loud, and shallow.  Oh well, it's only once a year...

One of my favorite questions in the whole wide world to ask anyone and everyone including my cat Izzie is this, "What are you excited about?"  With Izzie I have no doubt what her pea brain is thinking, "I'm excited that I'll get cat food tomorrow morning when Caroline wakes up."  Fortunately we humans have more than just a brain for our stomachs.  Right now I'm excited about going to the beach for a week with my family and Hannah's friends.  I'm excited that high school is over.  I'm excited that God gave me a job.  I'm excited that National Geographics are so fun to cut out of.  I'm excited that a spent some hours with an old friend. . .   So...what are YOU excited about, eh?
